Textile Retail Rose 21.8% in May

According to State Administration of Statistics, the total retail sales of consumer goods remained a stable growth in May, to 1469.7 billion yuan, rising 16.9% from the same period last year. The pace of growth was 0.2 percentage point lower than that of last month. From Jan. to May, the total retail sales of consumer goods reached 7126.8 billion yuan, rising 16.6% on a yearly basis. The pace of growth was 0.1 percentage point higher than that of first four months. While on a monthly basis, the total retail sales of consumer goods in May rose 1.28% from a month ago.

Of which, the total retail sales of textile, clothing, shoes and caps were 58.9 billion yuan, rising 21.8% from a year ago. The accumulated figure in first five months was 315.2 billion yuan, rising 23.5%.
