Chinas textile 12th Five-year Plan to strengthen innovation, R&D

“Twelfth Five-Year Plan” of Chinese textile will strengthen innovation, R&D of carbon fiber and other high-end fibers

R & D and production of China chemical fiber industry, such as carbon fiber, aramid, polyphenylene sulfide, high molecular weight polyethylene and other fiber products, are still in their infancy, R & D and production of most differentiated fibers remain in the level of second generation.

Currently most textile enterprises have lower tech-content but great potential of development. In recent years, only a few companies possess certain international competitiveness, but export capacity sharply increases. In the first half of 2011, China improved quality and technical level of industrial textile products, enhanced international competitiveness, the trend of industry growth to change from quantity to quality has become clearer.

A newly published report “analysis and forecast report of China's chemical fiber industry and investment in 2010-2015 " shows that chemical fiber enterprises in developed countries produce more than 100 varieties of products.

The “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” of Chinese textile will be introduced, it will promote upgrade of China's textile industry, boost Chinese products to develop to high-end market, with particular emphasis on strengthening innovation and R&D of carbon fiber and other high-end fibers.
