The case comes in the form of a monogrammed satchel bag and is priced at £150. More versions are expected to follow with a red Guccissima patent leather variation planned for Valentine's Day and a silver and diamant?? style lined up for the festive period. Each satchel is lined with soft suede and has a strap closure to protect the touch screen. The case will be available from mid-June in Gucci's flagship stores in Rome, London, Paris and New York. The cover-up has been launched at the same time as PPR, the label's parent group, announces Gucci's new eco-friendly initiatives. According to WWD, the label is expected to slash its transport-related emissions of carbon dioxide by 20 per cent in the next 10 years. As instructed by PPR, the Gucci group will also have to ensure that by the end of 2010 it uses only paper certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). |
