Synthetic Fibre Output Grew Quickly in First Quarter

According to China Textile Statistics Center, the output of chemical fibre from statistics-worthy enterprises reached 2,486,344 tons in March. While the aacumulated output of chemical fibre were 6,860,353 tons in first quarter, up 20.00% from same period last year. Of which, the synthetic fibre output were 2,245,843 tons in March, growing quickly comparing to 1,763,502 tons in Feb. The aacumulated output of synthetic fibre were 6,149,928 tons in first quarter, up 17.94% year over year. Divided by regions, the major producer of synthetic fibre were Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Fujian, Shandong, Shanghai, Guangdong and Sichuan. The accumulated output of those eight provinces accounted for 96.35% of natioanl total production. Since late 2009, the demand for textile material had recovered. The output of chemical fiber also turned to grow quickly. Thanks to the low cost of synthetic fibre and high cotton price, the demand for those fibre kept growing.
