According the National Statistics Bureau, in the first quarter of 2010, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) went up 2.2% year over year. Divided by the eight major categories, four went up and four down: foodstuff up 5.1%; cigarette & alcohol up 1.6%; medicine and personal goods up 2.4%; housing up 2.9%; clothing down 0.9%; home appliances down 0.9%; transportation and communication up 0.1%; entertainment and service down 0.1%.
The CPI went up 2.4% in March on a yearly basis, but 0.7 points lower than that of last month. The clothing CPI in March went down 1.1%. |
