Asia Pacific Leather Fair-2010: PTA chief lauds Pakistans successful participation

KARACHI (April 08 2010): The Chairman, Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA), Gulzar Firoz, has expressed his satisfaction upon arrival from Hong Kong after successful participation of Pakistan in the world famous mega event of Asia Pacific Leather Fair-2010 in MM&T Section held from March 29 to March 31, 2010 in Hong Kong Convention Centre, Wanchai, Hong Kong.

He said that PTA had Pakistan pavilion for its 55 participants in co-ordination with Consulate General of Pakistan, Hong Kong with the financial assistance from TDAP, and there were 7 private participants, which was the highest and a record participation of Pakistan in APLF-2010 out of 32 countries.

Dr Ahmad Balal, Consul General, Consulate General of Pakistan, Hong Kong accompanied by Michael Duck, Chief Executive and organiser of APLF inaugurated the Pakistan Pavilion at APLF on March 29, 2010 and appreciated the highest number of participation of the exhibitors from Pakistan. PTA's member participants displayed their finest quality of finished leather of all sorts with new and innovated fashion leather & leather products, which attracted a large number of buyers, visited from different countries, including Indonesia, Vietnam, USA, New Zealand, Korea, Japan, Singapore, China, India, Taiwan, Germany, Canada, Turkey, Italy, Czech Republic, Romania, Poland, Hungry etc.

Gulzar Firoz further said that on the spot about 30 million dollars export orders of finished leather had been received and about 20 million dollars orders were in the pipeline. Overall arrangement of the Pakistan Pavilion was good and visitors had appreciated the finest quality of leather & leather products.
