Producer-cum-exporters of value-added textile industry recently stated that, owing to severe scarcity of cotton yarn in domestic markets, the country is expected to loose no less than a billion dollar worth of foreign orders, coming summer.

The Value-added Textile Forum divulged that, exporters usually place their orders three months in advance, but if price of raw material keep on fluctuating in domestic markets, then it becomes difficult to ink a deal with foreign buyers.

They further stated that, the value-added textile sector was confronted with a gloomy situation, as with dearth of cotton yarn in domestic market, the sector was in a quandary as regards timely delivery of the garment export orders for coming Christmas and New Year festivals.
