China’s cotton fibre productivity to double by 2015

Since 2000, China's textile industry has grown at an average rate of 27 percent in terms of profits. The average annual growth rate of textile industry is estimated to increase at 15 percent from 2011 to 2015.

Currently, per labour productivity of cotton fibre is 56,500 Yuan/ton in terms of present value. Considering the estimated rise at 15 percent, per labour productivity of cotton fibre in China is expected to nearly double to 100,000 Yuan/ton by 2015.
