Pakistan to greatly benefit from Int’l investment conference

BEIJING, Sep 15 (APP): Pakistan will greatly benefit from its participation in the annual investment conference organized by the China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) in Xiamen.This was stated by Joint Secretary Ministry of Textile Industry Arshad  Farooq Faheem who was the member of Pakistani delegation that participated in the CIFT organized between Sept 8-11.

“With the blessing of God Almighty, we received tremendous response and encouragement” Faheem said adding that “a large number of international policy makers, trade related bodies and business concerns evinced great interest in our policies”.

The Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing was represented by Sardar Aminullah  Khan, Minister (Economic), he said adding that other member of the delegation was Project Manager (China Desk) Board of Investment Bilal Khokhar.

He further pointed out that many visitors were serious for cooperation  in different projects in Pakistan and assured that after getting  promotional materials and proper study they would contact the relevant ministries

in Pakistan. 

The CIFT, had arranged a series of seminars on latest investment issues, and investment project matchmaking symposia, the Minister Economic at Pakistan Embassy Sardar Aminullah Khan said.

This year’s conference theme was ‘Introducing FDI’ and ‘Going Global’, on investment negotiation and promotion of investment and coordinated development of national and regional economies.      

Considering the importance of the conference with reference to the investment opportunities Pakistan offers that arising out of successful visits by President Asif Ali Zardari to China, he said participation in CIFT will bring positive results.

CIFIT is one of the world’s largest international investment promotion events and participation in this conference will certainly be useful for the country in terms of understanding the latest trends and hot issues in the field of investment and for attracting bilateral FDI from China, said Sardar Amin.

He pointed out that the conference attracted investment promotion agencies from different countries and regions. The CIFIT conducted investment briefings on the occasion for facilitating bilateral investment. Xiamin is located across Taiwan and is one of the fast upcoming industrial complexes in China.        

The fair this year spread on an area of 60,000 square meters, 8,000 square meters more than last year, with 2,800 exhibition booths, said the organizing committee of  CIFIT. Around 492 overseas institutions from 83 countries or regions participated.
