Chinas textile, garment exports down 11.4% in Jan-Nov

Dec. 28, 2009 (China Knowledge) - The exports of Chinese textile and garment products fell 11.4% year on year in the first 11 months of this year, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on Thursday.

The ministry attributed the decline to continuing weak demand in the overseas market.

However, the export delivery value of textile enterprises above designated size increased 7.8% year on year to US$66.6 billion in November, reflecting a growth for the second consecutive month this year. The export delivery value rose 0.1% in October.

The export delivery value of textile enterprises above designated size fell 8.4% in March and 7% in June.
